We are committed to keeping the People Walker platform safe and want you to know the ways in which we are doing so. If you are applying to become a Walker, you will see below there are a series of steps to help maintain the safety of the community.
Applying to become a Walker
In the first step of the process is in the People Walker app, we ask some basic information such as your full name, home address, and date of birth with a series of other questions in a Walker application. This helps us verify your identity and learn more about you on paper.
If you do not already have a valid credit card on file, you will be asked to enter your credit card information during your online application process. If your application is successfully processed, you will be charged a non-refundable $18 registration fee.
Please Note: Payment of the registration fee does not guarantee to become a Walker on the People Walker platform.
Virtual Walker Interview
After the Walker Application is completed, if approved, you will schedule your Virtual Walker Interview. We like to personally know all of our Walkers - so this is a way for both of us to get to know each other!

Conducting a Background Check
During your becoming a walker application process, US applicants will be prompted to enter their Social Security Number (SSN). Our US background check provider will use your full legal name, date of birth, and social security number to process a criminal background check. Learn more about how background checks are conducted.
If Walker Applicant is Approved:
Setting up your Direct Deposit Information
Once you are approved into the People Walker platform you are required to enter your bank account information, as this information is necessary to set up your method of payment on the platform. Walkers can be paid only through direct deposit to an active checking account. Savings accounts, prepaid debit cards, and reloadable bank cards are not valid, even if they accept direct deposits.
We do not use your private financial information for any other reasons than those outlined above, and it is securely stored in an encrypted format in Stripe, Inc. If you have any trouble entering your banking information, please see this article for some troubleshooting tips.
Your Safety and Success
Before you begin walking, you will be given access to an online info video. This info video is designed to familiarize you with our app and boost your chances of success on our online platform.
Once you begin walking, you will have access to our Customer Support Team by email, and live chat for walker issues.
