Overcharged for my walk
Here are some common reasons clients believe they were overcharged for a walk. Check to see if any of these situations may have applied to your ride:
Higher price than expected
All of our walkers set their own price for their walks, so each walk depending on how long you book a walk for is an upfront cost.
Added on a per-walk basis, the Service Fee helps support the People Walker Platform and related services, including a broad spectrum of operating costs and safety measures.
Tipping a walker at the end of the walk is optional, but that will also be added to the overall cost of the walk.
Paid for a walk I didn't take
Here are a couple reasons you might see a charge from People Walker. Check to see if any of these situations may apply to you:
When you create a People Walker account, update your payment method, or request a walk, you may see a pending transaction on your payment method. This isn't a charge, but a temporary authorization we use to verify your payment method. The authorization will never actually process but may show as "pending" on your bank statement.
An authorization appears on your card or bank statement as 'PEOPLE WALKER *PENDING AUTH', and your card issuer will typically remove it within 5-7 business days.
Walk started without me
If a walker started a walk without you, or you believe a different client took your walk, let us know by selecting 'Contact Support' below and we'll investigate.
Family member or friend's walk
If you don't recognize a People Walker transaction, check whether your friend or family used your People Walker account or shared a credit card to take a walk.
Cancel or no-show fee
To compensate your walker for their time, we'll apply a cancellation fee in specific situations.
Credit or Coupon didn't apply
Any valid walk discounts or People Walker credits are applied when you input them.
